Reminds me of high quality primer— it feels like a great base that could support much more flavor. It does well to rein in the sweetness, but without prominent cocoa, cream, or salt presence, it ultimately feels underdeveloped, though is still easily drinkable.
Easily could pass for 2%— the cream is not only accessible, but accentuated— in part due to its velvety feel and balanced cocoa flavor.
Impressively well-balanced, mature flavor with a clean, satisfying finish. Its 1% base seems maximally leveraged to provide a surprisingly (and inspiringly) indulgent payoff. Definitely one of the best low-fat chocolate milks I’ve had in a long time.
Unique, in that the salt hits you before the sweet, and the cocoa flavor follows shortly thereafter (albeit briefly). It finishes cleanly, and may leave you searching for a deeper, more lasting chocolate experience. You could also convince yourself of a slightly ‘soapy’ aftertaste— though it’s still a positive experience throughout.
Fantastically smooth and silky texture, and a straightforward cocoa flavor that capitulates to a pleasant, mildly-salty flick at the end. It’s a pleasure to consume at any speed—sip/lap/guzzle/etc. and remains impressively effortless in its delivery.
Refreshingly under-sweet, but also under-flavored and dare I say, rather bland— save for a muted but very pleasant maltiness that manages to peek out for a shy hello.
Wow— this flavor profile (chocolate, chili pepper, cinnamon) may not be for everyone (self included), but it’s executed remarkably well here, particularly the slightly delayed heat from the pepper that comes in at the perfect time and strength. The cinnamon is not overpowering, and the chocolate is present throughout. A marvel of modern engineering, and if you think you might like this, it’s a no-brainer.
No shortage of flavor, though a bit reliant on sweetness to carry it through. Each sip starts and ends sweet, and there’s cocoa in between but there’s nearly a syrupy quality to it that lingers in the throat beyond its curfew.
Lovely texture and interesting flavor— much more like vanilla milk than cookie or chocolate. Thinner and smoother than the chocolate version, but not nearly the depth of flavor. A unique and enjoyable drinking experience nonetheless.
A little more punch in flavor than the cartoned version (and seemingly a touch thicker)— but these would be negligible for someone who is not sipping them side-by-side.
Beautifully simple and enticing dichromatic carton that makes you eager to enjoy what’s inside. So what’s inside? Smooth, milky, modestly sweet and averagely chocolaty milk. You could do a lot worse.
Much more palatable hazelnut chocolate milk than most of what I had in Europe— as there’s no punishing bitterness or cheap hand lotion-inspired texture. It’s milky, nutty, sweet, salty— lots of flavor going on here, and I suspect that if you fancy hazelnut, you’ll dig this quite a bit.
Sweet, chocolaty, and decently (but not distractingly) chalky. There’s lots of flavor and it’s surprisingly well balanced— overall, one of the better tasting protein-fortified chocolate milks out there.
The flavor balance is skewed more towards ‘sweet’ than ‘chocolate’— a trope often seen in lower-fat chocolate milks. Whole milk shouldn’t need this sort of ‘band-aid’— don’t get me wrong, it still tastes good, but could be a lot better with more cocoa and less sugar.
Smooth, creamy, and carries a flavorful sweet/salty punch that is enough to maintain one’s interest. The texture is milky but a hint on the sticky side.
Strong cocoa flavor with enough sweetness to curb most sugar cravings. Texture-wise, it feels overly thick (which may appeal to some) but still disperses normally— like good quality chocolate melting on your tongue.
Emphatically delivers on the ‘serious chocolate’ claim— it is abundantly so. It’s also significantly sweeter than average, and an odd choice to attempt to extend a 1% fat chocolate milk into the indulgent sphere. For the most part, it works— as the flavor is great (especially in small quantities due to the heavy-handed sugar), but it’s definitely more ‘starchy’ than ‘creamy’; you can't fake it with filler.
Luxuriously smooth and creamy, but severely lacking cocoa flavor. It’s still very pleasant to sip— especially if you fancy vanilla milk— as that’s what it tastes like. The texture is spot-on, and the flavor is muted (even for vanilla milk), but I still find it enjoyable and worthwhile.
Creamy, salty, sweet, mildly chocolaty— in that order, and it’s enjoyable save for a fleeting quality to the flavor that feels a touch unnatural.
