Sticky, syrupy feel that is at least congruent with its heavy-handed sweetness. There's definitely chocolate involved (and it doesn't taste bad to be sure), but it’s drowned out in sugariness and feels like you’re drinking candy and not something of animal derivative.
Either a bitter fruitiness or a fruity bitterness greets you on the first sip and instantly manifests as regret. That’s more than $0.01 per mL— provided you drink the whole bottle. Pretty sure you won’t want to.
Thick and dense feeling, but pleasantly undersweet and carries enough chocolate taste to warrant the claim. It’s also very chalky, which renders more in the aftertaste than upfront.
Milky and salty, but not quite malty or chocolaty. The artificial sweeteners are there if you look for them, but the smoothness greatly enhances the drinkability and makes sucralose less likely to be noticed.
Hides the fortification well and despite a noticeable density, it manages to deliver a natural-ish consistency, and creamy, balanced flavor that doesn’t skew too heavily in any particular direction. You could do a lot worse in the ‘recovery’ drink market from a taste standpoint.
Unnecessarily thick and tastes like spray paint fumes (modestly so, anyway). You could convince yourself that there’s more ‘banana’ flavor in this than ‘chocolate’— but either way, it’s not to be pursued for enjoyment.
Super starchy feel and a faux-sweetened wheatish taste. You could do a lot worse, but also a lot better with much less effort. Very little chocolate flavor— but if you like that ‘proteiny’ feel, have a go.
Super intense sweetness certainly dominates the experience and will nearly singe the back of your throat. It feels lots more ‘indulgent’ than ‘responsible’ and was a pleasant surprise in that regard, but it’s far too sweet to be taken seriously.
Thin and somewhat smooth, but unnatural feeling. The overt (phony) sweetness will shock and displease you. Reckon it's antifreeze without the cool green color.
Watery and unsweet— so you're left with a chalky, wheaty, proteiny taste that is reminiscent of sports drinks of old. The under-sweetness would work a whole lot better were there a creamy component, but it’s completely devoid of that.
Mild, fruity sweetness and chalky medium— it’s not horrendous, but definitely not chocolaty or something you’d drink for enjoyment. Tongue-watering faux-sweetener aftertaste drags it down a bit further though.
More bland and starchy than the 22g version, but a similar taste. I’d say it’s slightly more preferable as the aftertaste is less overt.
Chalky and seems to be shooting for a 'malty' flavor, but comes up rather short. It's light on flavor, but could be a lot worse considering the drink’s makeup and charter.
There's an ashy quality to the flavor and an anise-like twang on the tongue afterward. If you really need 50g protein, get a double Whopper or something else that won't leave your face grimacing and your wallet 4 quid lighter.
Thick, chalky, and finishes with a strong, multivitamin twang that they attempt to mask with heavy-handed sweetness. The cover-up is always worse than the crime.
An absolute onslaught of flavor (and calories)! Each sip ends with salty whack that will cause your tongue to water-- a very interesting experience. There's so much packed into this drink that it screams for dilution— it’s the most caloric chocolate milk I’ve ever had (that doesn't have chocolate pieces suspended in it), and one that I will remember for years to come.
Tastes and feels exactly like a protein drink, which won't win any flavor contests. Vitamin-y taste and dense, slightly syrupy texture— I feel like I’ve had this same product many times from various different packages.
A tad less bitter than the regular Styrk version, but enjoyment is clearly not the goal here. There’s not a strong ‘protein’ taste or overly contrived texture, but it's a rather shallow experience from a flavor standpoint.
Not at all sweet, not at all chocolaty, not at all creamy, not at all recommended.
Sweet and dense, feels like it lives up to the “54g carbs per portion” billing. I can think of a lot more enjoyable ways to spend this caloric onslaught, but I will admit this is an awfully fast (and painless) way to 350 calories.
