Milk Shake Schoko

Any thicker and you'd require a spoon— not how chocolate milk (or shakes) should be. The thickness dominates the experience, which frankly doesn’t have much else to offer. It's more ‘hazelnutty’ than chocolaty and over-sweetened to boot.

Kaufland Milkshake Schoko

Very reminiscent of the American Style Milkshake from Netto— candylike chocolate flavor in a super-emulsified texture that feels unnatural. There’s no salt quotient at all (which is essential in a milkshake) so it just goes way too far in the sweet/thick direction.

Matilde Favorit Kakao Skummetmaelk

Bland with a slightly nutty flavor that is an improvement over the sour/dirty flavor of the original. Considering the paucity of sugar in this product, it's not bad, but compared with normal chocolate milk, it’s still noticeably behind. Tastes better than expected, but my expectations could have stood tall beneath a pregnant tick.

Hershey's Fat Free Chocolate Milk

Strong fake-sweetener taste (which is not an ingredient) that lingers well on into the aftertaste. Had me wishing I kept some Funyuns nearby to destroy the residual flavor in my mouth completely. Not up to the same standards as the other Hershey’s UHT products I’ve had.

Pokka Sapporo Rich Cocoa Drink

Sports an unnatural brown that borders on reddish as well as a texture that doesn’t look like it possesses normal milk properties. As I braced for a nasty, chemically flavor, I was pleasantly surprised that it was rather chocolaty, however watered-down. Its bark is worse than its bite.

Bourbon Cocoa Beverage

One of the 'better' canned products I've had so far out of a vending machine, but that’s not saying much. It still is fairly watery and tastes a bit like you'd expect chocolate soda to (it's not carbonated), and the chocolate flavor is palatable, unlike many of the others.

Van Houten Cocoa (can)

Unnatural across the board-- from the moment it slithers out of the can to the moment your pharynx begrudgingly allows it to cascade down your throat— it feels wrong. It's not the worst thing I’ve ever tasted or anything like that, just quite a step down from the fresh version.
